EYFS - Red & Orange Classes

Walk the Plank!

Our new topic this half term is all about pirates and what we might find in the ocean. The children will be learning about different kinds of sea animals and how we can keep the oceans clean and protect the animals that call the ocean their home. We will also be looking at a collection of pirate stores to help develop our story writing skills.

Home Learning Challenges for the week beginning 29th June

This weeks home learning is based around the story Ten Little Pirates by Michael Brownlow.

Here is a link to a fun Pirate game of 'buried treasure' for Phonics:

There are lots of other fun games on Phonics Play. Explore the website and have a play. Let us know some of the games you have found and enjoyed through Class Dojo.

We are looking forward to seeing your work. Don't forget if you have any problems or questions about the home learning this week please don't hesitate to message Mrs Brunton or Miss Wright.

The daily RWI sessions are still taking place at 10.00 am for set 2 sounds and then 10.30 for set 3 sounds and can be accessed through the link below.

Dont forget, you can still access Oxford Owl and can read a range of books on there.

Don't forget Numbots is an excellent tool for your children to become really confident in their numberbonds to 10 and it then progresses to 20. If you are unsure of your username and password please message staff and they will be able to send it to you.

Please practise these sounds with your child daily. I appreciate not everyone has access to a printer and please don't worry as these sounds written on card are just as good as any printed out ones however I have placed a link below to some printable flashcards for the set 2 sounds your child needs to be able to recognise and write by the end of reception. Please keep practising all the sounds of the alphabet too alongside all these new 'special friend' sounds

Here are some of the key words the children would have been practising every week in school. Please practise reading them on sight and spelling them (using fred fingers at first).
