Safeguarding within our school is of the highest priority to ensure our children remain safe and well cared for at all times.
All members of staff, volunteers and students are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) cleared before commencing work within our school. On their first day, new staff, visitors, volunteers and students, undertake an induction by a competent and experienced member of staff; receiving our Safeguarding Procedures Information leaflet along with a copy of the Safeguarding Policy, which must be adhered to at all times. In addition parents undergo a List 99 check prior to helping out on school visits, etc.
As a new parent to our school you will receive a copy of our Safeguarding Guide for Visitors, outlining the acceptable conduct within our school, in your welcome pack.
Please note mobiles phones MUST NOT be used in school under any circumstances
Safeguarding is also about ensuring your child stays safe whilst online. With the ever-expanding internet sites, social media, Twitter, Facebook and even texting it is important that you are aware of what is happening in your child's life; ensuring the use technology responsibly and, most importantly, safely.
Kirklees Safeguarding Board have several links for advice on how YOU can help keep your child safe online and whilst using mobile phones. If you have any concerns, or just need a little advice, please ask to speak to our E-Safety Co-ordinator, the Head Teacher or any other member of our Safeguarding Team and we will be happy to help.
As part of the government's Counter Terrorism Policy an additional Safeguarding Policy, called PREVENT, has been created. It is about supporting and protecting vulnerable children and families from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. The Head Teacher is our PREVENT lead who you can report any concerns to. You can find out more about PREVENT by clicking on the link. Remember - if you have concerns, however small, we would rather hear 'It's probably nothing' time and time again than miss that one child or family we could have helped.
